On February 7th, our Director, Tatiana Herrada, participated as a speaker at the “DRBF Central America Regional Conference” organized by the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF) in El Salvador. During her intervention in the panel «What stops us from using Dispute Boards in Latin America and regulating their implementation in public procurement laws?», Tatiana addressed a key issue for the sector: the economic benefits of using a Dispute Adjudication Board (DAB) in a construction project versus arbitration.
Through a case study, our Director demonstrated how the presence of a DAB throughout the development of a project can optimize costs, reduce risks and minimize disputes, compared to the high costs and uncertainty of an arbitration process. «Dispute Boards not only prevent conflicts, but also generate a positive economic impact on construction projects, reducing costs and time compared to arbitration,» highlighted Tatiana Herrada.
The event brought together leading experts in dispute resolution, promoting best practices for the implementation of Dispute Boards in the region. From CDR/Consulting, we thank the DRBF for the invitation and for generating these spaces for dialogue and learning that drive the growth of the construction sector in Latin America.
